Admissions/Athletics Information Clerk-Part Time

Position Title: Admissions/Athletics Information Clerk—Part Time

Position Summary:

This position will continue to develop and manage information between Athletics and Admissions, including input and management of data as appropriate and creation of reports that facilitate access to information between the two departments. The position will work with Admissions and Athletics equally but will have a desk in Athletics.

Supervision Received/Supervision Exercised:

This position reports to both the Director of Athletics and the Director of Admissions and shares some responsibilities with the Athletics Office Associate.

Essential Functions:

This position will be responsible for inputting data, running reports and managing timely flow of and access to information on prospective students to coordinate information available to both Admissions and Athletics on both Windows and Mac computers. Assists Athletics Office Associate with prospective student-athlete visits, athletics mailings and coordination and support of workflow. Assist the Computer Specialist in Admissions with data entry and reporting, as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma. Familiarity with database management programs, good communication skills and experience in Excel and/or other Microsoft Office suite programs. Must be able to learn new software quickly and efficiently. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education beyond high school. Knowledge of both PCs and Macs would be helpful as would experience in Colleague and FrontRush. Advanced experience in Excel.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting at a desk approximately 4 to 8 hours a day.

Dr. David Clark’s research subjects watch TV. The unusual aspect is his subjects are usually spiders.

Clark, professor of biology, has dedicated his research to animal communication and the evolution of visual displays. His studies have focused mainly on the dimorphic jumping spider.
