Assistant Football Coach--Offensive

Position Summary: The applicant’s primary responsibility will be to assist the Head Coach on the offensive side for the football program with the possibility of coordinating, including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting qualified student-athletes, fund raising, camps, developing practice schedules, building community support for the program, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, and being knowledgeable of applicable NCAA rules. Also serves as an Instructor for Exercise and Health Studies classes. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 4 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level required or demonstrated successful head coaching experience on the high school level as well as the educational background and expertise to teach college-level courses. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple tasks. Requires excellent written and oral skills, knowledge of computer applications, organizational abilities, event planning and camps, fund raising, financial management and recruiting ability and demonstrated commitment or experience working with diverse populations. Must be able to work weekends/evenings and travel.

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Wright Hall, Alma’s “green” residence hall, is a modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall that features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.

Dr. John Davis
Departments: Integrative Physiology & Health Science

Taking the Integrative Physiology and Health Science major to new heights, Dr. John Davis has conducted classes on some of the highest peaks in North America. In doing research on altitude physiology, Davis has taken Alma College students on several research trips to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to study the acute and chronic effects of moderate altitude exposure on exercise and cardiovascular responses.
