Assistant/Associate Professor of Dance

The Theatre and Dance Department at Alma College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor for Intermediate and Advanced Ballet Technique, beginning August 2012. The successful candidate will excel at program building, including curriculum development and active outreach to prospective students. Experience teaching classical ballet technique, pointe, partnering, and women’s variations are strongly preferred, as is experience staging both classical and contemporary ballets. Expertise in two of the following areas is also desirable: Dance Philosophy, Dance Criticism, Anatomy and Kinesiology, Injury Prevention for Dancers and Athletes, Somatics, Dance Ethnology or Music for Dancers.

M.F.A. in Dance or terminal degree in related discipline is required for tenure-track appointment.
