Business Administration/Health Care Administration

Alma College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2010.  The successful candidate will be actively involved in our emerging interdisciplinary major in Heatlh Care Administration.  Teaching responsibilities will include courses in at least two of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance, or Health Care Administration, as well as related interdisciplinary offerings.  Candidates should be committed to undergraduate liberal arts education, to active pursuit of scholarship, and to institutional service.  Full-time teaching load is six courses per year; salary, benefits, and support for professional development are competitive.

Alma College received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2009 for research that could eventually lead to the development of more effective drugs to treat and prevent certain kinds of influenza, including human infections of swine and avian flu. "This project provides an opportunity for students to get involved in important laboratory research," says faculty member Jeff Turk, principal investigator.
