President

The Board of Trustees of Alma College invites nominations and applications for the position of President of the College. The President is the chief executive officer of the College, serves ex officio on the College’s Board of Trustees and all of its committees, and is considered the principal advisor to the Chair of the Board.

Alma is a nationally recognized, independent, selective liberal arts institution with about 1400 students. It enjoys a spacious 125-acre campus located in Alma, Michigan, one hour north of the state capital of Lansing, in the center of the Lower Peninsula. Twelve miles west of the campus is the College’s Ecological Station, since 1889 the site of faculty-student research. Alma awards bachelor degrees in the arts, sciences, fine arts, and music; and Alma graduates enjoy high success in graduate school enrollment and first professional employment. Alma hosts a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, one of only seven in Michigan.

The Board seeks an energetic, experienced, and accomplished institutional leader who has also gained distinction as a teacher-scholar, preferably with executive and fund-raising experience in liberal arts college setting. The appointment to the presidency is expected to take effect on July 1, 2010.

You can then integrate your real world experiences into your academic programs and your future career.
