Reference and Instruction Librarian

The Alma College Library invites applications for a temporary Reference and Instruction Librarian.  Primary responsibilities are reference and information literacy, but additional duties may be assigned on the basis of need and candidate abilities.  This is a full-time, temporary faculty appointment.  Schedule will include some evening and weekend hours.

ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent is required.  Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.  Familiarity with library instruction and a commitment to excellence of library service are essential.  Academic library experience in reference and/or instruction is strongly preferred.  A second Masters degree is desirable, but not required.

Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.  Anticipated start date is August 1, 2008 with the position continuing through April 30, 2009.
