Grants Specialist

Alma College is seeking a grants specialist to work with faculty and administration in the development of grant proposals for curricular and co-curricular projects. In addition, the grants specialist potentially will spend up to 25% of his/her time in grant-related activities for the local school district, including collaborations between the College and the local schools. This individual will serve as primary author for academic program grant proposals and as support for faculty in development of research funding proposals. The grants specialist will identify grant seeking options; consult, advise and collaborate on project proposals targeting public and private funding opportunities; assist in editing grant proposals to comply with funding guidelines; develop supplementary materials; prepare accurate budget proposals and narratives; and secure necessary approvals. This position may also assist in the production of reports or other documents to administer grant contracts, and may prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external constituencies. This position will report to the Provost.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Must have experience in grant proposal preparation and submission. Strong organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills. Proficient in computer and technology use. Able to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience with post-award grant/contract administration and with Grants.gov. Knowledge, coursework, or experience in designing, implementing, and managing program evaluation or research projects.
