Assistant/Associate Professor of Education
The Alma College Education Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2008. Will teach courses in the elementary certification program and supervise student teachers. Ph.D. required, ABD will be considered. Experience in teaching Elementary Reading and Language Arts Methods, Diagnostic and Remedial Reading, and Children's Literature is essential. Experience supervising student teachers and teaching at the P-12 level is preferred.
The candidate will be expected to participate in the department's national accreditation process and take the lead in the literacy program. Standard teaching load is six courses per year. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to scholarship and to institutional service in an educational community that emphasizes close faculty/student interaction.
