Temporary Financial Clerk

Applications are now being accepted for a temporary clerk for the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters. The hours for the temporary clerk are 15 hours per week (some afternoon hours required). Examples of duties include, but are not limited to processing and recording revenue from all sources, preparing and sending invoices for individual and institutional memberships, recording individual membership and subscription information, preparing cash receipts and credit card deposits, recording entries in Excel spreadsheets, reconciling accounts on a monthly basis, and assisting with maintaining academy database and tables.

Applicants are required to have experience with general office accounting, good verbal and written communications skills, ability to work independently with attention to detail under deadline pressure and knowledge of or ability to learn computer software for database entry and manipulation and financial reporting. Training and/or experience with Web page design or updating, accurate data entry skills, experience in an academic environment and time management and organizational skills are desired.

The pay range is $8.55 to $10.05 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications.
