Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving

Responsibilities: Organize and administer all aspects of a NCAA Division III men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs.

  • Recruit academically qualified student-athletes
  • Schedule practices, meets, tournaments
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and NCAA rules
  • Understand and enforce Intercollegiate Athletics Department rules and regulations.
  • Participate in student development initiatives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department;
  • Hire and supervise assistant coaching staff;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Teaching responsibilities in the core curriculum of the physical education minor and activity program may be a possibility.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three years coaching and teaching experience, college preferred. WSI, LGI, CPR and First Aid certified. Additional requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the rules and regulations of NCAA Division III swimming and diving
  • Ability to identify and attract outstanding students to the college, problem solving, planning, analytical, organizational, leadership, and written & oral communication skills.
  • Clear understanding of the Division III philosophy and the role of physical education and athletics within a private, liberal arts academic setting

Appointment: Full-time. 12-month Administrative Position.

Compensation: Competitive salary and commensurate with the expectations of the position and the qualifications and experience of the applicant. Benefit package includes a tuition remission program for the employee and his/her dependents.

The college sponsors 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women and is a member of NCAA Division III and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Alma College is an AA/EOE, and women and minority applicants are encouraged to apply.
