Prospect Research Associate III
Role
The Prospect Research Associate is responsible for planning, organizing and executing a program of comprehensive prospect research which will improve the solicitation process of major gift prospects and result in increased support of the institution. Primary responsibilities are outlined below. Teamwork is a priority.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth research to develop background information on prospects, including information of businesses, wealth, associations, and interests.
Be proactive and creative in identifying new prospects, collecting information from a variety of sources. Utilize online databases, the Internet, library reference sources and development files to gather information, analyze the information and compile current prospect profiles.
Develop appropriate surveys to use with selected members to provide up-to-date information.
Contact Reports; work with staff to obtain contact report information following their visit(s) to assist that these be completed in a timely manner. Add the information to the contact’s record. Add tickles, monitor tickles to be sure contact follow-up is being performed.
Prepare written summaries of donor prospect information.
Maintain tracking and management system for donor prospects.
Maintain hard files and computer files using on donors and continuously update them with information from staff members and other sources.
Organize and participate in monthly prospect review sessions to rate prospects, maintain prospect “clearance” system, coordinate assignments of prospects to Advancement Staff and track strategy in the solicitation of donors.
Generate reports and lists of prospects as needed for cultivation events and other purposes using the Raiser’s Edge software.
Respond to specific research requests.
Prepares and submits the Voluntary Support of Education Report annually.
Serves as backup to gift records/Annual Giving Associate.
Required Job Qualities:
High school graduate.
At least five years office experience and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and various software programs.
Desirable Job Qualities
Associate Degree.
Research and report building background.
Knowledgeable in Blackbaud: Raiser’s Edge software.
The pay range is $10.05 - $13.19 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications.
