Office Associate

Student Life Office

Applications are now being accepted for an office associate in the Student Life Office. The work schedule for the office associate is 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to, assigning all student rooms, handling room changes, resolving conflicts concerning room assignments, coordinating Alma College student summer housing, acting as a liaison between all residence units and the company supplying washers and dryers for all repairs and service requests, providing secretarial support for the Resident Hall Directors, Director of Campus life, Vice President of Student Life, assisting professional and student residence hall staff in organizational and office procedures, coordinating and scheduling meetings for all staff, providing secretarial services for Greek organization officers, advisors and all small housing managers on campus, maintaining Greek files, responsible for key check-out and check-in process for small house residents, and supervising student assistant work study 15 hours a week.

Qualifications include: Computer skill with word processing, Microsoft Word, MAC, Excel, Access, e-mail and basic web design, secretarial skills and knowledge, confidentiality, excellent telephone, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

The pay range is $8.40 - $9.88 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications.

The business administration major from Monroe has seen first hand the economic effects on southeast Michigan of low-cost imports and Chinese monetary policies.
