Head Athletic Trainer/Instructor of Athletic Training
This full-time 12-month administrative position includes responsibilities as Head Athletic Trainer and Instructor of Athletic Training.
Duties include coverage for men's football, men's basketball, and women's softball; coordinating athletic training coverage schedules for all sports; maintaining athlete medical records and insurance; aiding in prevention, management, evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; assisting with game preparation and coverage of athletes; practicing skill competencies with current Athletic Training students; performing the duties of an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) to supervise and complete competence assessments as Athletic Training students; developing and conducting workshops for coaches; teaching 3 units of Athletic Training classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department (the specific classes for the 2007/2008 academic year include Principles of Athletic Training - EHS 222; Orthopedic Assessment II and Lab - EHS 326 and 326L; and 2 sections of Athletic Training Clinicals - EHS 206 and EHS 306).
Qualifications are a bachelors degree in Athletic Training - a master's degree is preferred; NATABOC certification with at least one year of experience - multiple years preferred; experience in supervision of athletic training students; experience teaching athletic training courses; strong background in rehabilitation skills; able to interact effectively with students, faculty and staff; and excellent organizational skills.
