Dance Instructor/Choreographer

The Theatre and Dance Department of Alma College seeks a sabbatical replacement for Winter Term 2008 (January-April 2008) to teach Beginning through Advanced Ballet and choreograph for the Spring concert.  Load equivalent is 4 classes. 

Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree with evidence of significant teaching and choreography experience; a MFA is strongly preferred.  Alma is a private liberal arts college in central Michigan.  Dance curriculum is based upon the liberal arts structure.

The Alma College Percussion Ensemble performed at the prestigious Centrum Jazz Festival, an international festival in Port Townsend, Wash., in July 2007. Alma was the only college group invited to perform. “It’s a huge honor,” says faculty director Dave Zerbe. “You can’t apply to perform there; they seek you out.”
