Temporary Groundskeeper

Applications are now being accepted for a temporary groundskeeper. Approximate dates are April 23 – June 29 (10 weeks/4days per week) and Oct. 1 – Nov. 23 (8 weeks/ 5 days per week). The temporary groundskeeper performs semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care and modification of College grounds and landscapes, which includes the operation of electrically-powered and gasoline-powered grounds keeping equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, trimming grounds and landscaping.

Experience: At least one year of experience in grounds keeping is preferred.

Effort: Requires the ability to lift and carry grounds keeping supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis.

License: Must have a valid Michigan motor vehicle operator’s license.

The pay range is $7.50 – $8.00 per hour depending on experience and other qualifications.

A Truman Scholarship finalist and Center for Responsible Leadership Fellow, Drew has traveled to South Africa and China studying the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Bay City native intends to use his French minor and POE in International Health to improve AIDS care in Africa, hopefully as a physician with a global public health organization.
