Part-time Academic Secretary

Applications are now being accepted for a part-time academic secretary in the Education Department. The part-time academic secretary position is 4 hours per day, Monday – Friday. September through May. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to, providing support to the Teacher Education Program and Education Department faculty, preparing reports and correspondence, filing and coordinating activities with faculty, students, parents, administrators, alumni and others in the educational community. This position serves as a resource on State teacher education requirements and supervises student workers.

Applicant must be able to work independently and to establish and enforce priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent organization skills as well as previous successful and diversified secretarial experience are required. Knowledge of MS Word (Macintosh) and Excel, previous work experience in a higher education setting and knowledge of Teacher Education programs and Certification procedures is preferred.

The pay range is $8.40 to $9.88 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications.
