Temporary Full-Time, Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Physics

The Physics Department at Alma College invites applications for a temporary full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position to begin with the Fall 2006 semester.  This will be a one-year position with renewal possible for a second year.  Applicants should be capable of teaching classes across the broad spectrum of undergraduate physics.  For the 2006-07 academic year our specific needs are in the areas of algebra-based, freshman level physics primarily for life-sciences students, sophomore level modern physics, and junior level dynamics for physics majors, and algebra and trigonometry-based astronomy for non-science students.

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team claimed its eighth consecutive regional championship at the SIFE USA Regional Competition in March 2008. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principals of market economics through outreach projects in their communities.
