Project Manager (Part-time, Temporary)

Alma College is seeking applications for an energetic, results oriented individual to document the scope of projects, bid document development, field inspections, and general project oversight.

Detailed qualifications and a listing of responsibilities are outlined below.

Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for project based work for summer 2006 construction, renovation and deferred maintenance projects. Duties will include scope documentation, bid document development, field inspections, and general project over sight.

Supervision Received

The project manager reports to the Director of Physical Plant, with reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration on the card system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Does or oversees design of some projects
  • Does project estimating and feasibility studies
  • Does field inspection work to insure projects proceed according to plans and schedules
  • Prepares project and bid documents for Director and VP approval, and seeks multiple bids on selected projects
  • Communicates as appropriate with Director of Physical Plant and contractors

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, with experience in a wide range of renovation projects across multiple trades, and/or small to mid sized construction projects.
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Demonstrated experience in completing projects on time and in budget.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering
  • Experience using Microsoft Projects software or equivalent
