Instructional Technologist

The Alma College Department of Information Technology has an opening for an instructional technologist. This is a full-time, continuing, professional staff position. Responsibilities include training and direct support for faculty in the utilization of technology in the classroom; supervising the operation of a multimedia production lab; providing assistance for individuals responsible for developing education and training opportunities for all members of the college community in the use of basic productivity applications and network services.

The successful candidate for the position should have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in instructional technology or a related field; experience in design and development of technology intermediated teaching materials; knowledge of digital media formats and format conversion techniques; experience in the production of DVDs and the development of digital audio, video, animation, and graphics materials; knowledge and skills in computer hardware and software trouble-shooting; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work without direct supervision and full responsibility for projects. Additional relevant qualifications include: teaching experience in higher education and supervisory experience.
