Assistant Professor of Religious Studies

Religious Studies.  Assistant Professor, tenure-track to begin Fall 2006.  Commitment to undergraduate teaching within the Liberal Arts is a major requirement.  Area of specialization is open, but the candidate should be able to meet the needs of a small department and teach some courses in at least two of the following areas: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, or thematic courses which cross individual religious traditions.  Competence in non-Western traditions a plus.  Responsibilities include academic advising and institutional involvement.  Ph.D. should be in hand at start of appointment.  Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching and a demonstrated scholarly agenda are required.
