Graphic Designer (part-time, 20 hours per week)

JOB FUNCTION

Responsible for the design of college publications.

REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Produce content, edit and design brochures, programs, posters, flyers, pamphlets, advertisements, and other printed materials that promote the college to specific audiences.
  2. Meet with campus clients to determine goals, audience, content and timelines for requested college publications.
  3. Compile information as necessary for the design and production of publications.
  4. Utilize graphic design and word processing software to create or revise publications.
  5. Adhere to college style guide and maintain a consistent design that fits the overall Alma College look and feel.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Proficiency in Macintosh operating system and Adobe software, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  2. Proven, strong graphic design skills, and ability to edit and design with exceptional accuracy and professional quality.
  3. Minimum two years professional graphic design experience.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
  5. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Ability to be receptive to constructive criticism and make revisions as necessary.
  7. Ability to meet deadlines.
  8. Ability to work on multiple projects and make judgments about work priorities.
  9. Web and multimedia skills desired.

In the more than 100 years since its founding, Alma has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive. Today, Alma features a marching band clad in Kilts, a Scottish dance troupe, student pipers and its own tartan. Each year, the College hosts the Alma Highland Festival and Games, which feature traditional Scottish games and revelry.

A Truman Scholarship finalist and Center for Responsible Leadership Fellow, Drew has traveled to South Africa and China studying the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Bay City native intends to use his French minor and POE in International Health to improve AIDS care in Africa, hopefully as a physician with a global public health organization.
