Political Science - Assistant Professor (2 Positions)

Tenure-track positions to start Fall Term 2005. We are interested in candidates who can combine disciplinary expertise with an ability to contribute to a new interdisciplinary program emphasizing public service and leadership. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in two or more of the following areas: Political Theory; Constitutional Law; Research Methods; Public Policy and Administration (including governmental and non-governmental service); American Political Institutions; Comparative Politics. Ph.D. required by time of appointment.

Candidates should enjoy teaching a wide variety of undergraduate courses and be committed to excellence in teaching. Other responsibilities include active scholarship, supervising undergraduate research, and service to the campus community. Our faculty has a deep commitment to quality undergraduate liberal arts education, including student development in a residential setting, and interdisciplinary, intercultural, and international education. Full-time teaching load is 6 courses per year; salaries, benefits, and support for professional development are competitive.
