Department Labs

The Smith Room in the Library. The Smith Room is a department lab belonging to the library that is completely wireless. All of the machines in the room are laptops. The Smith Room is used primarily for library instruction.

Several of the departments on campus have specialized labs for use by students within that department.  Some of these labs may simply be a computer or two that are available in a public space for students within that department.  Others are quite large and may include a variety of specialized equipment and software specific to the department.

Lab equipment varies greatly from lab to lab depending on the area of study.  The Music lab has keyboards connected to each of the computers in the lab for music instruction purposes while the Exercise and Health Science lab has a variety of athletic equipment  connected to their computers.

Departments that currently have labs on campus include Art and Design, Athletics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Education, English, Exercise and Health Science, Geology, the Library, Math and Computer Science, Music, Physics, and Psychology.

In the print “Sands of Time” dark shadows and textures come together with silver and grey tones to form an almost surreal beach setting. Sandy Lopez-Isnardi, associate professor of art and design, has been making traditional gelatin prints like this for more than 20 years. Her work also includes non-silver and chromogenic prints and most recently has focused on the Midwestern landscape in photography. Her digital work is experimental, including two-dimensional and installation works.
