Specialty Labs

Specialty Labs

The Strosacker Lab in SAC is a lab intended for faculty and student digital media projects. The Strosacker Lab has a variety of digital media software including Adobe Creative Suite 3 and Final Cut Pro Studio. It also has a large-scale printer for professional poster printing.

In addition to the general labs that are available on campus, Alma College also provides some specialty labs where students and faculty can work on more advanced digital media projects that require special software that may not be available in all of the general labs.   The primary, non-departmental, 'specialty' lab on campus is the Strosacker Lab in SAC 311.  Unless reserved by faculty for a class, the Strosaacker lab is always available to both students and faculty.  However, due to limited space, priority in using the lab is always given to students using digital media software for class projects that is unavailable in the general labs.

Alma College also offers a variety of department labs.  These labs vary greatly in size, software, and availability.  Click on the 'department labs' link in the left column to explore the various department labs.

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team claimed its sixth consecutive regional championship at the SIFE USA Regional Competition in March 2007. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principals of market economics through outreach projects in their communities.
