General Labs

General Labs

The Olafsson Room is the main general use PC lab at Alma College. It is located on the main level of the library, making it a very convenient stop if you are studying or doing research there.

At Alma College, we have a number of labs available for general use such as checking email, navigating the internet, working on a paper, and building a PowerPoint presentation.  While we have more advanced 'specialty' labs on campus, the general labs are usually have the most availability for those who aren't working on advanced digital media projects.  Alma College supports both Windows and Macintosh systems and offers labs both in the academic buildings as well as in the dorms. The links to the left will allow you to explore more  information on all of the general campus labs including The Olafsson Room (the main general use PC lab), and the Dorm labs.

Alma’s innovative PRISM project—Positive Routes Into Science and Mathematics—gets more students excited about science. It engages students in research opportunities not only in their first, second, third and fourth years of college but also in the summer prior to taking their first college course. PRISM is funded by a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
