Computer Labs

The SAC 110 general use computer lab
Alma College offers a wide variety of computer labs to students to assist them in their studies.  Every lab on campus is quite different and specialized to a certain area of study.  This section will help you explore the computer labs offered by Alma College.

Alma College offers general labs, which are there for use by all students no matter their major or area of study.  These labs might be used to check email, work on a paper, or meet a group to put together a PowerPoint presentation.  More information on the general labs at Alma College can be found by clicking on the ‘general labs’ link to the left.

There are also a number of specialty labs available on campus.   The specialty labs include the Strosacker Collaborative Learning Center, which offers a wide variety of digital media software for digital media projects. We also have a variety of department labs. Each department lab has their own specialized equipment and use.  You can explore these labs by clicking on ‘specialty labs’ in the left column.

The Alma College Percussion Ensemble performed at the prestigious Centrum Jazz Festival, an international festival in Port Townsend, Wash., in July 2007. Alma was the only college group invited to perform. “It’s a huge honor,” says faculty director Dave Zerbe. “You can’t apply to perform there; they seek you out.”

Spring Term courses offer students opportunities to break out of the “Alma Bubble.” Off-campus study, especially in a foreign country, shows you how you relate to the rest of the world and how the rest of the world views American people, politics and policies. You can then integrate your real world experiences into your academic programs and your future career.
