February 25: Google Earth in Education
Google Earth is a free virtual globe program that maps the entire Earth by superimposing satellite images and aerial photography over a 3D globe. This workshop will examine possible educational uses of Google Earth.

November 9: Converting Video for Educational Use
Hosted in SAC 311. Converting video between formats has become easier than ever with current technology available here on campus. This workshop looks at methods used for video conversion and examines a variety of uses for educational video conversion.

October 5: Educational Podcasting
Hosted in SAC 110. Podcasting is the name that has been given to episodic video and audio "shows" that are uploaded to the web for free subscription. This workshop will look at Podcasting and its potential uses in Education.

September 21: More Moodling with Moodle
Hosted in SAC 110. This workshop follows up on the previous moodle workshop by looking at some of the more advanced features of Moodle. This workshop is open to everyone at Alma, you do not need to have attended the previous workshop.

September 7 & 8: Moodling with Moodle
Hosted in SAC 110. Moodle is the new open-source course management system here at Alma College that is replacing Blackboard. Stop in and learn the basics of putting up content for your courses.

 

Alma's "green" residence hall, Wright Hall, was completed in January 2005. The modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.
