Accessing your professor's Drop Box

You can send your professor files, projects and assignments securely and safely through their Othello drop box. The process is similar to accessing your own Othello files. First, you must connect to Othello.

Mac OS X Users

Connect directly to Othello. When prompted which volume to mount, however, chooe the faculty-staff volume instead of your own.

Others

Connect to Othello with the FTP program. Click on FTPRoot  and then the faculty-staff folder.

Find your professor's username in the list of folders, open it, and then open their public folder. On Mac OS X, drag your files from your computer to the "Drop Box" icon. Other users must open the Drop Box folder and upload your files into it.

You will not be able to see your files once you have sent them; OS X will even warn you about this. This is a security feature. Your files have been received.

Your professor can now read and open the files, and they are protected from other users.

Alma is one of only 100 colleges and universities to be named to the Templeton Honor Roll in the Templeton Guide: Colleges That Encourage Character Development.

Spring Term courses offer students opportunities to break out of the “Alma Bubble.” Off-campus study, especially in a foreign country, shows you how you relate to the rest of the world and how the rest of the world views American people, politics and policies. You can then integrate your real world experiences into your academic programs and your future career.
