Connecting directly to Othello

  1. In Finder, click Go > Connect to Server... or type Command-K.
  2. A dialog box will pop up. In the server address field, type othello.alma.edu; if you'd like the computer to remember this server, click the "+" button. Othello.alma.edu will appear in the Favorite Servers, and you can click on it there instead of typing it in every time.

  3. A second dialog box will pop open, requesting your username and password. Enter your webmail username and password and click connect.

  4. A third dialog box will open, asking which volume you would like to mount. Navigate to your username in the list, not your class or group.  Click OK.

  5. The icon of your network share
    A Finder window will open showing your network folders. An icon with your username will also appear on your desktop. You can open files and save them to this area just as you would another folder. To disconnect from your network share, drag this icon to the trash.
