The Scot-gun offense

Football Saturdays at Alma's Bahlke Field are truly exciting for fans who enjoy an aggressive down-the-field offensive attack. The Alma College Scots employ the "Scot-gun" offense. It features multiple wide receivers and exciting downfield passing. The Scots typically rank among the nation's leaders in total offense, passing yards and points scored. And they're always in the hunt for the league championship. Football is one of 18 intercollegiate varsity sports at Alma -- nine teams for the men and nine for the women. The best part about athletics at Alma? The opportunity for participation! Thirty-four percent of Alma students typically participate as a member of a sports team at Alma every year. Alma College competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the oldest athletic conference in the nation.

Alma College students are annual high achievers in the national Model United Nations competition. Alma has received Outstanding Delegation awards in each of the last 13 years (1997 through 2009) at the world's largest and most prestigious collegiate Model UN Conference in New York City.
