A Wellness Challenge

Some details you’ll want to know:
Dates: April 29 through May 24, 2013
Teams: Alma College will have 4-person teams; your office could join as one team or break into as many subsets as you deem necessary. It is fun to name the teams, though, and this year we are encouraging names associated with dogs.
Goal: Your group could use the Alma College goal of 10,000 steps or set your own goal.
Pedometers: Participants may use their own pedometers or groups may purchase Alma College pedometers at our cost ($3 each). You can get them at the Stone Recreation Center or at the Mailroom/Printing Center in Wilcox Medical Center.
Reporting Steps: You can report your teams’ steps to Alma College (see the forms below) and we will compile and list all results on the WALK THE DOG Challenge Facebook page. This year we are including other athletic activities such as swimming and biking, and we offer a conversion chart to help turn laps swum or miles biked into steps.

Weekly Group Walks: Alma College will host a noon dog walk on Wednesdays starting on the Heartland Trail at the corner of Superior and Grant. We will provide the dogs.
