Athletics

Competitive athletics are about doing your best, so it's no wonder they are such a strong part of the Alma College traditions. To our scholar athletes, the ideals of the playing field and the classroom are the same: commitment, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence. Alma coaches share this same perspective -- and that's why Alma's athletic programs boast so many players who earn league and national honors and who go on to successful careers in business, law, medicine, teaching, and other respected fields. Alma's intercollegiate teams compete in the NCAA Division III as a member of the historic Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Alma’s close faculty-student interaction provides numerous benefits such as the ability to do undergraduate research on a graduate level. Alma’s professors treat students more as peers welcoming student input and collaboration on faculty projects. When students are involved in research, faculty aggressively pursue publication of findings including students as co-authors.
